How do I sit AAT assessments if I study by distance learning?

If you choose to study AAT through distance learning, you'll be assessed in the same way as classroom based students: by computer based assessments and computer based projects.

This means that while you won't need to attend classes, you will need to go to an assessment centre as an external candidate when you’re ready to sit your assessments. (Some larger distance learning training providers may have a centre near you, in which case you just need to speak to them and book to go in for an assessment at that centre.)

The good thing is, you can do this any time of the year – you just need to find your
nearest assessment centre. Here's a list of approved AAT assessment centres which you can download (PDF).

Please note that assessment centres charge a fee for you to sit your AAT assessments as an external candidate, and some may also charge administration fees. Contact assessment centres directly to learn more about their fees.
