Does anyone know the answer to the four 5s question on page 53 of the March/April issue of the magazine?

    Thanks

          5+5=10 x5 = 50 / 5 = 10-5 = 5

              Hello Jan

I did the same as you but the opposite way round 5-5 + 5/5 = 1 however this has not used all the operators. I can use all operators and achieve 1, but end up using 5 5s!

I read the question the same way as Jo in the first instance and tried to use all the operators - but you don;t have to.

*whispers*the answer is printed up the side of the page in the magazine....

shows it wasn't just me that thought you had to use all of the operators - my fiancee beat me to the answer first - so ashamed

Answer up side of page, so it is!!

I do think the question was unfairly worded by saying don't use the operators more than once. I did read it believing all operators must be used. It's really easy now!!!

                            Thanks for your replies everyone!

I got the answer in less than 10 seconds.
                              5 / 5 + 5 - 5 = 1
                              .
