"Inland revenue" email

Just to let enyone know - one of our clients has just had an email which looked as though it was from the revenue saying that he had a rebate due of £994.33 the next step was to enter bank details for the refund to be paid within @ 3 days! As if ! The email appeared genuine with all the revenue logos, direct gov logos etc

Oh dear, not again.
Its a bit like "how do I become an MIP?"0 -
i had the same email but the words "dear UK Tax Payer" rang alarm bells0

Any unsolicited email saying "you have a tax refund" should ring alarm bells with anyone.
Sadly, a lot of clients can't see past the possible gain and I have to set them straight a lot.0 -
I dont need the money from a rebate, apparently I'm getting £3 million pounds just for allowing a south african lady to "rest" money in my account..........wait a minute0
