VAT & Tax rules for small clubs
I have a small, not for profit motorcycle club (200 members), the members have just agreed to a token membership fee, does this club have to register for VAT & income tax, as a result of this decision thanks all for your help:001_smile:

I wouldn't have thought so....an angling club takes membership fees and they don't have to. (not an expert in this field though)0

We had a small conservative club and had to prove that there was little profits (as all reinvested for members benefits) and then were exempt for corporation tax (with permission from HMRC). However they have just sold some land so have to pay tax on that income.0
