I am struggling to understand some of the postings from the cashbook, I believe when the money is received from debtors it is recorded as a credit in the sales account or sales ledger control account, but when you post from the sales daybook the sales ledger control is a debit and the sales account is the net value as a credit. How does the money received clear the balance in the sales account if they are both credits?
