Tax Software
Hi Claudia
There seem to be endless tax software packages at the moment. We use Sage accounts software which is brilliant and may take the plunge and buy their tax software next but it does seem pricey. You can buy it in modules tho which helps. Forbes apparently also sell their software in a modular format.
By the way the AAT business support helpline is good..08707 454545, you will need a scheme no. firts from the AAT.
All the best.
Phil Daulby0 -

Many thanks for that. Will give them a call next week, when hopefully they have got themselves sorted out after yesterday.
Claudia
0 -
Tax Software
It might be worth looking at the Iris software as we use this in our practice and it is very good. Their website is www.iris.co.uk0 -

Tax Software
Hello Claudia,

I use Drummohr's Tax Assistant, it is very reliable and is also a lot cheaper than many of the alternatives.

It costs £365 (+VAT) for the basic Tax Assistant module, which covers personal and partnership tax returns, together with all the supplements. There is also a basic Corporation Tax return (but you will have to do your own corporation tax computations with this version). You can use it for unlimited number of clients.

If you need to you, can add fully computational Corporation tax return module and also the internet filing module.
Both of which I use.

I like the fact that you can import the accounts directly into the tax returns, and the internet filing means that you get an aknowledgement straight away. Although I must admit that some that I filed late (i.e. 31st January or near) had me panicking a bit as I had a bit of a job getting through and the Inland Revenue didn't send the acknowledgements straight away. But I think it must have been the same for everybody, whatever they were using.

I used this when I worked for a Chartered Accountant and also since I started working for myself, and it has NEVER CRASHED !!

Good Luck, Let us know what you eventually choose & how you get on with it

0 -
Tax Software
Have finally decided to go with Tax Platform as you can buy the bits as and when you need them - also no 0870 number to call with problems - sorry a real bug bear of mine. Always nice, friendly and helpful people at the other end of the phone.

Shushana where in the country are you based? Would you be interested in having someone to bounce ideas off - i know i would at times!

Get in contact if you want @ claudia.lowe@btinternet.com

0
