help at work - nominal out

Okay im stuck,
My purchase ledger balance is higher than the control account nominal code. Ive already taken out invoices that are post dated, where else can i look for the difference? theres like 40k.

Im using sage line 100...

    have you checked for duplicates? I am sure that there is a facility for checking such a thing but cant remember what it is called - sorry.

    Has anything been posted directly to the nominal ledger?

    Any journals don't usually go to the subsidiary ledger so often this is why these is a difference. If you need to alter something it should be done by a credit note to make sure it updates both accounts.

    Journals are also easy to look for as you run down the left hand side a JC or JD sticks out like a sore thumb.
