Hi everyone

I have just discovered this forum and I am glad that I did!

I have just started the foundation level. Before I started so many people would say "dont worry foundation is easy" but I have to say, although im not struggling, I am not finding it particulaly easy!

As soon as I pick up my books to study, my concentration goes right out of the window! anyone else having this problem??! :cry:

    Hi and welcome

    I didn't find Foundation that easy, especially at the start - I failed my first skills test :? but got through it in the end. I think overall I actually found Intermediate easier.

    I've found this forum really useful, both in getting advice and in clarifying my own understanding by helping others.

    The concentration thing isn't a problem for me... it's opening the books in the first place that I have difficulties with :)

    I think we all have a tendency to glaze over. I don't know what the solution is, just have to keep trying!

    Hello confused!

    We all went through what you're going through now. I remember having a week long nightmare thinking I'd failed my first skills test way back in November '04.

    Come next June, it'll all be second nature and you'll be amazed at how you ever felt lost at this stage! Nor will you believe just how easy the central exam is! My college had a 100% pass rate and everyone was out in an hour and a half despite it being a three hour exam!

    So the moral is; don't worry, take it all in, do your homework and you'll find it a doddle, despite your early worries and fears!

    I know what you mean, I have learnt alot in just 4 lessons

    I did have a quick look at last years exam paper and it didn't look as though it would take 3 hours to do, but I guess its different when you are actually doing it and being timed :)

    Yeah I finished the exam in an hour but I didn't want to be the first to leave so I waited another hour but no-one had left so I was the first to leave anyway :P

    You'll be fine. If you find the simulation ok you could do the exam blind-folded.

    Foundation is easy but it's well worth doing cos it gives you a good basis to build up all your skills.

    Yep, Gem is right on that. If you find the simulations fine, then the central will hardly stretch you at all... The central exam is just soooooooooooooo easy! Easy for me to say I know, but it really really is. It took me about an hour to complete with twenty or so minutes of checking to see if I'd totally missed the point or something!!!

    I've said this elsewhere, but when my intermediate year started, those who had studied Foundation were generally quicker off the mark than those who hadn't and just gone straight in.

    Enjoy Foundation while it's still easy - it gets much harder afterwards!!! :shock:

    HI confused :D

    its a great site !!

    im a newbie too and although when in class some things arnt crystal ...by the time i get home a read up a bit , it all just seems to click into place ...so far anyway lol :lol:
