BTC December 2004 Task 2.3 a) - please help

I have just completed the exam paper for December 2004. Can anyone tell me what the 'less charge on income' is for and how it is calculated?

I have been revising so much, I think I have got brain fade now! :roll:

    I haven't looked at the question but charges on income are usually things like gift aid and such like. Have you got those on your question paper?

    I have just looked at the paper and, yes, the charge on income is the Gift Aid figure of £3,500.
