I'VE GOT A NEW JOB :D:D:D:D:D:D

It's £1500 more than what I'm on at the moment, I'm going to get some proper training and experience (I don't even do Sage, VAT returns, or Tax Comps where I am :shock: )

So, I wrote my notice, I had to be cheeky and ask a colleague to give her 'this letter' because I wasn't going to see her all day.

I was so scared. I threw up. My colleague was like ' :shock: you'd better go home...'

So I went home before my boss had even arrived at the office! I hope she got my letter. If she didn't come in today and perhaps read it tomorrow would that matter?

I'm so excited :D:D:D:D:D

I leave on the 23rd Feb and start on the 26th.

I hope I get a leaving party...

    have you been paraded around your new workplace like a lone cattle yet? or is that going to happen on the first day...

    I'm never usually a shy character but I don't know what came over me when I finally sat at my new desk - it's a nice feeling though, a feeling of accomplishment the someone else wants your services.

    Made up for you Gem, good Luck! Have a top Partay too - you timed it right for a Friday didn't you!

    anyone got any idea on how to get a job in accounting....i am doing the diploma pathway at my first year......got no experience but i understand it ?? whats the best route to take ?

    theres a post on General forums I think i'll try fish it for you but there was someone kind enough offering to give someone a job but it's in London so depends where you are.

    You always seem to have a right good time when you go out :P I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get a leaving do from my work though :(

    I'm so excited now. It would be so funny if my work offer me more money on Monday :lol: although I'm not leaving just because of the money. But it does play a pretty big part :)

    I don't know how old you are... but I found my first trainee job on the connexions job page. I can never find the page though when I need it :?

    If you can't find a job there they could offer you some advice on job-hunting.

    And an agency found this position for me. They specialise in accounting and finance. And I must say I used to hate agencies with a passion. I thought they were only out there for the commission. But they've done really well :D just don't be afraid to say no if it's not what you really want.

    I got my 1st job via an agency, who treated me like just another number - I swore i wouldn't use them again... but an agency got me this job, which is more along the lines of commercial analyst than accounting but the money relfected the rise in the challenge and I followed the money :-) ... although the propsects for progression are rather fantastic at my new place.

    I logged on and registered with reed.co.uk and typed in a keyword that brought up vacancies around my specified area. Then they put me in touch with the agency handling and this time, they are still phoning me now (got a call on friday) asking if everything is going OK a nd if i had any qeustions.
