Unit 31 simulation skills test

Has anyone done the simulation skills test for Accounting Work Skills?

If so can you explain how to calcuate the manufacturing cost per ampex and also the sales revenue earned per employee in the year for task 2.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with this. I find the pace very quick. We've only had two days to learn the whole module and I need 2 months!!.

    Hi Sarah

    Me to, we also have only just started looking at VAT in one session! its madness, however my main concern for this latest skills test is consolidation of data as question 1 affects the rest of the questions apparently have you had any hints on it at all?

    Yes I believe it does. I know on the simulation skills test you need the answers from question 1 to do the rest of the paper.

    I haven't really been given any hints. I think it's going to be a question of just studying at home and completing the key techniques questions from the text book for practice.

    However I do feel as thouugh more simulation skills test should be available.

    I'm not sure if the skills tests are like the exams, if you get a figure wrong on one question and then use that incorrect figure again for the next question, they don't give you another error?.

    If you are that worried I would ask your tutor for help?. Are you in practice?. is there anyone at work that could help you?.

    I think i might be asking my tutor for more help.

    I spoke to my tutor last night and he said to just keep practising the ones in the book and he also gave me a hint of what type of things are going to pop up so I will find that at home for you and send you it if that would help you at all?

    i too am havin the same problem, are you doing this course via college/uni? im doing this at work, and finding it hard to fit this into my time, which is a bit stressfull.

    i'm doing this at work in the evenings and am finding it a bit stressful, my tutor gave me the lowdon on what ratios to do and that is ROCE, Gross Profit Margin and Net Profit Margin

    I am going to FTC in southampton. I get day release which is good, but still find it difficult.

    just spoken to bpp and they have told me that both skills test are computer based??

    i thought only one was...

    anyone know for def??

    yes I had a mock simulation tonight and most of it is computer based its on variances, consolodiation of data and adjusted and unadjusted figures all on excel mostly

    lovely! cheers for that!!

    that makes my life lot easier.. ive hurt my left hand and cant write (yes, im left handed!)and was worried bout not being able to do the skills test!

    figure might aswell get them out of the way now rather than next level.. phew!
