    whats this like, is this a project that the AAT provides, i've just sent them an email to see if they have a project to use for anyone who is unable to do one at work

    basically it's case study provided by the AAT for people who don't work or don't work in an accounts environment. It's a scenario based around a made-up company and you base your project on it like you would if you were doing it based on your workplace. I had to get it through my college

    Hi, am using the aat case study. The best scenario was to read all the case study and chose one of the departments to write about. I was stuggling with mine until my lecture explained to me, you needs to refers to each criteria as you go along.

    I have this case study also. I don't have clue where to start, there is too much information. I certainly think that the sickie woman should get a kick up the bum. And serious cross departmental training of duties is required to cover holidays/sickness etc, as they all pretty much just stick to there own duties even if there quiet snd other employees are rushed off thier feet. Manager also needs to look into the law of the young mothers flexibillity to working hours, he clearly refuses her right to appeal.
    Unfortuneatly I just don't know where to start and my lecturer is prbably the worst on the planet. I have the BPP unit 10 workbook but trying to study for exams at the same time is both time consuming and stresful. Any ideas of how to piece the project together in smaller chunks sytematicaly in say 2hr periods before bringing it all together would be of great help? PS. has anyone actually submitted a pass on this case study?

    Hi,
    Don't work yourself out,

    you can start by putting the information you have together, starting from the org. mark up and the responsiblities of each and then move to how you can improved the org.

    Went to see my tutor yesterday and suggested that I only concentrate on one department and look at the strengths and weaknesses of that but he was adamant that I look at all three!!

    Would you agree that the sales department is probably the strongest dept and the purchases and payroll the weaker ones?

    I find that when I'm writing up an analysis of the accounting practices and policies, I'm copying alot from the case study material....is anyone having the same problem??? I guess this is right though because we have to explain what the procedures are and the only way we can do this is from the material given to us????

    I would say that the purchase dept is the strongest section. I would welcome your comments.

    OK having read the case study a billion times now, I think I have decided that the purchases and sales departments are the strongest and that the payroll is quite weak. Cannot seem to find any recommendations to make regarding the sales department apart from getting all customers to pay bu BACS by offering some sort of discount? Does this sound right? I'm abit stuck on what to put down for the fraud chapter too.
    Oh yeh, where the heck does the problems with Sheila and Diane fit into all this???!!!!

    yeah i did a risk analysis but I included it in my main project. Didnt add it to the appendices or my word count might not have been enough.
