We were hoping to recruit him into the Buddies, but alas - he just wasn't up to the job.

Now we're just left with Malcolm...

Richard, I would call it more giving "attention to" rather than picking on

I meant left with Malcolm today - everyone is probably still recovering from yesterday.

Didn't mean to offend any of the guys!

Oi, I'm still here too with definitely more to offer than Malcolm's mere chocolatey fingers...

Either you two must have scared Steve away or he didn't want to keep slumming it with the Buddies...

... serious reputation and all that, you know?

    Robert

What have you got in mind?

The hot wax is a little hairy now - we can't re-use it.

Although I quite like the sound of a Brazilian!

Oddly enough, I was thinking of the Poll Tax riots of 1381- storming the Tower of London during the Peasants Revolt.

Alright J, how tall are you? That doesnt sound overweight!

179 cm - by right's, i'm in the "standard" weight bracket but leaning more towards the overweight than the lesser side of the standard brracket.

I'm not full on dieting - I just want to lose a little chub and shed maybe a stone?

    Re:Study Buddy

    What's 179cm in English?

For the record, I am just over six foot and weigh around 12st 2lbs. My stomach does wobble but I would be classed as slim/medium. I used to be really skinny and when my hair was 100% dark, I was dubbed a burnt matchstick.

    Now I'm just burnt out!!

Keeping me last for what Mandy?

Thank you. I do find it funny that you use metric for height and imperial for references to weight.

Helen, being the athlete amongst us, why are track events measured in metric except for the marathon? Is there an equivalent for 26 miles 385 yards?

    Re:Study Buddy

I think when it changed, they just changed the distance, because in the old days they used to run the 100 yrd race. I dont use metric for height, but J did, I had to convert it!

    Re:Study Buddy

    179cm is about 5'10".

I'm only 5'9" myself- which is supposedly average, but I can think of more taller people than shorter people. Maybe it's a median rather than mean average.

I'm a decidedly plump 15st. This annoys me because last January I was only 12st 10. Partly I blame the medication I have been on the last year or so messing up my 'hunger' sense and digestive system. Partly with work stress I've been eating more junk and not exercising enough.

All of which is a segue to my leaving my job next month. In just under three weeks, it will be time to hand in my resignation. This is something I've never done before- can anyone offer any advice/anecdotes? I'm leaving for full-time study, not directly to another job, and I want a polite, dignified exit.

Be prepared for them to offer you things to convince you to stay, if that is a possibility, think about what you would want, if anything could swing your opinion.

    I don't think so. I doubt they'd offer, and I can't think of anything I'd accept.

Maybe a real tame flying, fire-breathing dragon.

What kind of things could actually be offered? More money, better duties, company car, that kind of thing?
