I'm considering moving to Manchester (and I've noticed that a lot of people in the forums are from there) after I complete AAT to start ACCA at a practice or maybe even in industry.
I was wondering what are the nice places to live in Manchester and how do house prices compare to those here in Kent (they are pretty bad here).
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Re:Manchester
Manchester prices rose an average 1.7 percent last month, and 8% increase on last year.
The average price for a house in manchester right now is between £140 and £160k.
All areas here have the odd postcode which is full of idiots, you get them in all other areas of britain though.
The prices indicate a good area, but as for prices - they're on the up and have been for years now. With the introducstion of the Sport City a few years back and the upcoming Supercasino (if plans go ahead) prices will rise again.
Go to rightmove.co.uk and search for houses up to £200k and you should find something decent for that.
If you see anything, you can e-mail me or ask me about it and i'll try my best to give you an accurate update of the area :-)0 -
Re:Manchester
I've been looking but I really do not know as to the nice areas, are there any you would recommend?
I think my budget will be around £150- 170k

Re:Manchester
Hey there Ashbean14.....
I prefer Stretford/Urmston because I think the people from round there are great, can you guess where I live then
Although I do have to say you seem to get more house for your pound in Eccles and you are nice and handy for the Trafford Centre!
Good luck with your search, keep us posted.

Re:Manchester
A few estate agents and others have told me I could find a nice place in Eccles, and Chorlton seems to be mentioned quite a lot.
I don't know much about these areas, but was wondering if anybody else could shed any light on them0
