Does anyone know a site where I can download software to enable DVD writing?
I only want to use it for backups.

Go to www.download.com and search for DVD writing software. Look for freeware downloads.0 -

Re:DVD software
A couple of years ago when Roxio decided it no longer wanted to work anymore, I used a small, no-frills freeware program called Burn4free.
http://www.burn4free.com/
It was so nifty at what it did - i.e. quick and to the point without it wanting to know the date and minute of your birth, where your great gran's buried etc - that I was tempted to make a small donation but I didn't want to enter my personal details! LOL! All that work for no return - poor penniless buggers... should have gone on Dragon's Den instead!

Thanks for the advice. Downloaded a free one and so far it hasn't begun deleting everything off my pc...0 -
Re:DVD software
no, instead it's logging each keystroke you make to steal your bank details!
Saying that, the poor sod will probably fall asleep looking at the quantity of posts you make

J - why the cruel words?
Sooo looking forward to the weekend!0 -
Re:DVD software
I put a keylogger on our work server and it keeps getting picked up by the anti-virus/spyware software!
Bit embarrasing when the directors asked what it was - I just said "a programme" and left it at that!

Re:DVD software
Got to ask this. Why did you put it on?0 -
Re:DVD software
I didn't actually install it on the server - since no-one actually uses that machine to input or do anything, it just sits quietly in a dark and dusty cupboard along with the decaying remains of my bad debtors - I just left the keylogger program hidden on the network in case I ever felt the need to install it on any of the other local machines.
I probably shouldn't say anymore than that...
