Hi

Does anyone out there frequently file annual returns for clients online.

How did you comply with client money regulations?

Please help if possible

    Hi Mowzer

I am not sure that I entirely understand your question(s).

By annual returns do you mean Company annual returns? Yes, I do file them online for clients, pay by card and recharge the client.

Secondly, do you mean mean money laundering regulations?

Give us more details and we will try to help.

I couldn't help wondering if it was me missing something here also!

I think Mowzer may be referring to money laundering regulations and clients monies.

If Mowzer is referring to money laundering and clients monies then the ICAEW have produced guidance in this area (Mowzer states his firm is ICAEW regulated on another thread). The guidelines aren't exclusively devoted to one subject area e.g. annual returns - it just covers ethical issues surrounding client monies.

    Kind regards

By 'client money regulations' I assumed he was referring to the position where client sends in a cheque for the filing fee, it then resides in a client account before then being transferred to a current account for paying the fee.

Similarly to Claudia, I would incur the fee and then recharge it to the client as a disbursement, thus not needing to hold client monies at all.

Client money regulations can be found in the ICAEW handbook here.
