Hi

Is anyone going to the cocktail party tomorrow night on the Circle Line. It is to celebrate the last night that we will be allowed to get rat arsed on the tube.

It's not my idea. I just heard it on the news today.

As of Sunday it will be illegal to carry, let alone drink, booze on the London Transport Network. Shame. :(

I will miss the nights spent locked in a cell at Paddington cop shop having wet myself from being legless on the tube.

What happens if you catch the tube after shopping at Tesco (other stores are available)?

That's a good point that I also thought of.

They are now forcing all alcoholics to use their cars and polute the atmosphere.

That's a bit too far isn't it?! What if you are using the tube to go to a friend's party and taking some wine/beer/whatever with you?!

That never happened to me, not for want of trying though. It did happen to a friend though after we'd gone our separate ways one night. He was a senior training manager with Lloyd's Bank at the time too.

Right, so I have couple of things to clarify:

    1) I did not go to the party on the circle.

    2) Apparantly you can carry unopened alcohol on tube.

    Phew. :thumbup1:

    Thanks for that, Speegs.

I can rest easy, knowing that you didn't get arrested.

But what if you want to take a bottle of brandy, for instance, to a friends because she has a catering nightmare and needs a dash of it to set her pudd a light? It could quite possibly be a bottle you have already opened - in fact, that's very likely!

I think more thought on this dramatic change in legislation is needed.

OK - I have the perfect solution for taking opened bottles of alcohol on the tube.

    Option 1

Get a catheter bag and put your alcoholic beverage in that then tie it to your leg. If anyone queries it, say you have a week bladder.

    Option 2

Get a coke bottle, or lemonade bottle, or a bottle which would normally contain a drink with the corresponding colour to your alcoholic beverage, then replace the soft drink with the booze.

There you go. You now have two very good (I think) suggestion.

Or Option 3 - drink it all before you go, vomit on the tube, appear in video on YouTube.

I think Baggybooks has just hit the nail on the head. Why do you lot bother drinking at all if it isall going to go the same way every night? Bit of a waste of money if you ask me!!!

And if you're drinking Carling/Budweiser/Carslberg it'll be impossible to tell the difference anyway even under detailed chemical analysis.

I'm quite happy sitting at home with a glass of red wine, why should I need to use the tube?

Apparently, the 'party' all went to show it was a good move! There were several arrests and injured people.
    Idiots!
