It's normally increased in October of each year, have they changed it for this year?

    Minimum Wage

In actual fact the only change for April is that BERR (Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform) is introducing an new enforcement and penalty regime as well as a new method of calculating arrears of NMW.

It is not anything to do with NMW rates which will increase in October as normal.

The low pay unit is still deliberating the matter but the unions have asked for a massive increase (which is daft) and the CBI/FSB have asked for it to be delayed (which will not happen).

    Hope that clarifies things.
