I wouldn't worry too much if I was you.
you may have made a mistake on one nuber that threw the rest out.
If you have used the correct calculations but wrong figure, you will still get marks.

    I think I got the 232,000 F Variance..

I think I got the contribution figures.

The email..... Was it only asking to explain the benefits of flexible budgets verses the normal.. As I did not actually bring figures into it

Did everyone else include the variable part of the semi variable costs in the variable cost bit before the contribution?
  • Chris023

I included the whole cost in the variable part for the semi - Variable costs.

Although I think I have seen in previous exam papers that either way is correct

I split them up into the semi variable part and fixed part.
Put the semi variable section at the top, then contribution, then the fixed part of the cost at the bottom if that makes sense?

Re-sit coming up for me - I was in such a panic and completely messed up the lay out for question 2. I did it as per the operating budget shown so guess I have lost marked. Think my variances were ok but doubt this will get me through. So, so upset but nothing I can do now....

    PCR paper

Was there any limiting factor in Section 1?

I was so time-pressured and there was a lot of info to take in that it only occurred to me afterwards - was there a constraint? It didn't jump out at me (unless it was buried somewhere in the first 2 pages).

Also, what did you get on the operating profit/ how did you deal with it? I'm not sure I ended up calculating this right (i.e. taking account of fixed o/hs and both products or not).

    ???????? :confused1:

    WAREHOUSING - the answer

If you sell to the department store, they will have the warehousing costs, not you! So, do not include warehouse costs cos there aren't any!

Also Wolfe with an E - I got a loss too, and I think if anyone got a profit, they missed something.
