Hi All hope you can help.
I have failed synoptic twice now I have my retake next week, I have been revising none stop but the college wont help any longer so i've been going through my original material and notes from class.
I've passed all other modules I'm just really struggling on synoptic
No matter how much I revise I go back and look again and I've forgot its really starting to frustrate me.
I've gone through the layout of the exam and ordered the past papers by section I don't know where I'm going wrong, I learn in one format and the exam presents the question differently to how I've studied it and I fail, can any one offer any advice?
thankyou

Just to note I've done both practice papers on AAT and gone back over other modules that are included in the exam and read the examiners report, I'm starting to think I should swap to 2022 business awareness

    Hi there,

Let me start by saying I have not yet taken the synoptic, but like you I have gone through synoptic assessment on AAT site and have been thrown off a bit with the format!

I don't pretend to be an expert here, but so far I have passed each exam I took and I though I might share some tips on how I plan to tackle it to hopefully give you some new viewpoint.
Note that what I find to be my weak points may not be the case for you, and I would first identify those and adjust this accordingly. Also know how you learn best - for me it's writing things down that really makes me memorise thing.

    Here's my plan:

    1. Fully study ethics workbook - I struggle with remembering different organisation names etc the most, and so that's my start point.
    2. Review each of the coursebooks for 3 previous assessments - make a note on every topic I don't fully understand / don't fully remember.
    3. Once I have a list - review how much time I've got against how much studying will take. Start reviewing units until I am confident in each.
    4. Once prep is done - I have an entire question bank book for synoptic and I plan to tackle that. It may not be all information synoptic could throw at me, but it will cover most information and prepare me. I strongly suggest getting a question bank if you haven't got one yet.
    5. Do all synoptic practice papers available to me (AAT site and books).

I think it is vital to make sure you understand the concept of things, and not just a given task in coursebook. This will help you identify what can be used to complete task successfully. For written questions, make sure you're explaining things fully to get full marks.

Finally, DO NOT give up! You've already passed 3 assignments, so you will pass this too! Don't let the nerves get the best of you in exam, and focus on your weaknesses!

I hope this helps and good luck in your exam!

Hi Alm1ghty thankyou for your response, I have my exam tomorrow so we shall see, my husband set up a study studio so I've been there & also watching youtube videos helps I've noticed I'm more of a hands on visual learner.
I went through the examiners report and the other three modules and put them in order of how they may come out in the exam so ive been repeatedly going back and forth with the other three and I must admit I feel alot more confident.
    thankyou for your advice
