A pleasant surprise I thought I'd share.

An ICAEW rep came to our offices today to give us a powerpoint presentation.

Apparently AAT members have the highest pass rates of all ACA students. Followed by non technical graduates (history, geography etc.) then science grads.

But who was bottom of the pile?

Accountancy graduates obviously, lol.

Point it out in your next interview those of you fed up of losing out to grads in your search for a training contract :)

Weird, isn't it? I've seen similar before that are skewed by including accounting, marketing and similar courses under the general umbrella of 'business graduates', but that science graduates are preferred. It's a scientific mindset versus business knowledge thing, I think.

Yeah I would have expected science and maths grads to be top of the ACA pile. History, geography type grads are the kind i'd have expected to perform worst (apart from mickey mouse media studies etc.). Yet they're second only to AAT.
