Need advice with level 2.

Hello Everyone.
I would like to take exams AAT lvl 2with distance learning method. I got few questions regarding that:
1. Can i teach myself form other sources than official (for example academic Introduction to Accounting and Finance or from CIMA [i got one from 2013]).
2. To take exam i need to be registered with AAT. But regarding training providers - for what module i have to pay to sit exam?
3. For person without any accounting/finance background with knowledge gained from preparations to Data analyst degree (had to drop due to high fees) what would be better AAT or CIMA or maybe there are other certs. I need to pass any certyficate in business/accounting/finance capacity as a proof for employers i had recently interview for data statician(got no formal degree but knowledge "bigger" than people after unis.)
