Job Description

Key responsibilities of the General Finance Manager will include but not be limited to:

Assisting director of finance with preparation of annual budgeting and audit process

Supporting Director of Finance in ad-hoc projects as required, including major capital redevelopment programme
Key member of credit control team with responsibility for introducing formal system of follow up and thus reducing debtor days
Reconciliation of investment accounts on a monthly basis and preparation of quarterly Investment Report for Finance Committee and six monthly report for Investment Committee
Preparation & submission of quarterly VAT returns for organisation and its subsidiary including ongoing review of recoverable VAT
Assisting in development, updating and documentation of procedures and controls to ensure the organisation continues to safeguard its assets in an efficient manner
Carrying out a range of internal audit checks to ensure controls are operating efficiently and reporting on same
Overseeing day to day IT provision within the organisation and assisting Director of Finance with strategic IT projects

The Successful Applicant

You will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant (or equivalent) with strong technical skills that can be evidenced through experience and a background in a small to medium sized practice organisation would be highly advantageous. The ability to communicate effectively with non-finance budget holders is essential to success within the finance manager role and therefore experience of this or the clear ability to deliver in this area is crucial.
