We are a small, but busy, accountancy practice in Blyth, Northumberland. We are looking for an AAT qualified (or almost qualified) assistant accountant with some experience working in practice. The successful candidate will be working directly with the senior/owner accountant and will also have direct client contact.

The role involves:
Bookkeeping
Accounts production
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Preparation of annual/statutory accounts
Preparation of personal & company tax computations and returns.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, and experience using computerised accounting packages would be an advantage: IRIS and SAGE in particular.

The position is full-time Mon to Fri, 35 hours per week. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
