What is the process for BACS, CHAPS, FPS

Hi all
I'm currently studying level 3 aat and I have a job interview for a finance assistance. I have only done admin finance before and have never processed a bacs or chaps payment and the job spec asks for it. I know I'll be able to do the task but what does it actually involve is unknown to me. Eg What do you check, how do you know when to do a run, etc
Please could someone who is already processing them or knows how tell me what the general process is.
