Re:Journal Vouchers
A journal voucher is simply a record of the debits and credits you are making into the general ledger, and a narrative (description) on why you are making them.
They are often discussed in accounting books and the word voucher seems to indicate each is a seperate piece of paper, but in the real world another book is kept (and some business's not even a book they just rely on the computer system).

Re:Journal Vouchers
hi
At work we call them 'transfer journals' as you are either transfering money from one ledger to another due to an error in the original posting or for year end adjustment reasons.
When entering cash from the cash book or bank statements we also use journals although they are referred to as 'cash book journals'.
The one that text books relate to is the top one.
This may help you to remember easier.
