Portfolio and applying for membership

Hi All

I'm due to get my final two exam results next week and, if I've passed (fingers crossed) then I want to apply for membership asap. I have no problems getting the work experience signed off but I;'m a bit worried about the whole portfolio thing.

I started AAT straight at Technician level as my degree exempts me from Foundation and Intermediate. As I've done all the exam based subjects via home, the only 'wordy' things I've done are my project and the health and safety Unit 22 stuff.

Will the AAT need to see my portfolio at all ? To be honest I see it as a complete waste of time. My employer knows I can do my job and I'm not planning on moving from my current employer in the near future.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks :)

    Re:Portfolio and applying for membership

    Hi Nicky

I went to college for the majority of my AAT. We had to have our portfollios internally verified and the college kept the portfollios because someone from AAT visits them every year and can request to see anyones portfolio. They are mainly looking at whether the provider is consistent in it's marking of porfolio work and that they are not signing off units as being complete when they are not. If you have had the portfolio units marked by your study provider and the provider has told AAT you have passed those then there should not be a problem.

If in doubt contact your provider.

Hope this helps and good luck for your results, I am keeping my fingers crossed I have passed DFS.
