Can you start technician level if you have not done all the exams at intermediate level? I have still got to do the FRA exam and skills tests for Unit 5 and Unit 6. I want to do DFS in June. Would I be allowed to do this?

Re:Technician Level
Hi
I'm doing technician level now having passed intermediate last year.
There are several students in my group who failed FRA last June but who have continued on to technician level and did the re-sit in December but I would imagine that it is down to the individual college whether they would allow this or not. Good luck.0 -
Re:Technician Level
Are you home study or at college?
If you are home study, you could go ahead and give it a shot!
Most colleges won't take on now until April or Sept and if you join in April, you will have missed most DFS lessons as I believe they start around Feb (that's going on my local college though).
If you've done neither the FRA or skills tests, I would say most colleges would advise you to complete those and join in Sept - of course, it depends on the college!
Also remember that the college fee from Sept will include tuition for DFS, so you will be wasting money paying for a unit already done!
I'd say concentrate on getting everything in intermediate complete and then you are completely able to concentrate on technician - that's the advice I was given anyway0 -
Re:Technician Level
Hi Phunkyphantom,
Thanks for the advice. I have just this minute foun d out that I have passed ECR but I still have to finish FRA. I think that I will just finish Intermediate first and concentrate on getting my head around it properly so that I know all the ins and outs of the subject and not just what I need toknow for the exam; at least that way I will make a better accounting technician once I get a job.0
