Professional ethics/SSAP's

Hi all,
Need some info on the above for simulations, studying Intermediate (Diploma route). Can anyone suggest any publications. Not Frank Wood, as we are using his book in class and it is a nightmare to understand ! Used Osborne books for Foundation which were great, but do not know if they do one that will cover these subjects?

Hi Rosie,

Not sure if and how the requirements for the diploma and the NVQ differ, but the Osborne NVQ Unit 5 book Financial Records and Accounts covers the SSAPs required for that unit.

In terms of professional ethics these come under the following headings:

Independence
Objectivitiy
Integrity
Confidentiality
Competence and technical and professional standards

Perhaps looking at what the AAT refer to under the above heading could help you. Other boards such as ACCA, ICAEW etc.etc. also have the above principles in place for all their members and students.

Sorry I can't elaborate further on these due to the volume but it should give you a pointer in the right direction.

HI I am doing the diploma course vis distance learning with FTC and the study text I recieved for Professional Ethics is very good, although I am not studying that unit at present.
