Starting Intermediate Level but no working background to support it

I just passed my foundation exam and completed the porfolio. so i guess i will start Interdediate level soon.

But only one problem, at the moment i don't have a working background to support my study anymore. I used to work in the accounts in a solicitor's firm but then got a better job offer with my current company.

I managed to get the evidence to complete my foundation porfolio, but i am just wondering can i get away with it for intermediate level too or do i have to have an account working background?

Thanks for reading.

Daniel

There were several people in my group who sat intermediate while working outside of accounts. I didn't use any work based evidence for intermediate year as it was mostly covered by skills tests and exams. My college gave us some extra questions for the few points that were not in the skills tests. God luck.

there are people in my class at college who have never worked in accounts and they are still finding everything ok. You dont have to be working in accounts to complete intermediate, nothing in my course so far has over lapped with what i have been doing at work so i shouldn't think it makes any difference.

I have 1 more exam to pass to finish technician level.
I have done all 3 levels without being employed in an accounts department so it is allowed but not advised.
I felt at a dissadvantage only at technician level so found a company willing to let me do work experience in their accounts department.
Before I did this everything I had to learn was theory with no 'real life' experience to back it up, and also The unit 10 assignment is difficult if you opt to do the aat's simulation instead of basing it on an actual accounts department.

You can probably get away with it, but it is advisable to get some work experience - it is possible to do it without, but to have the hands on experience aswell will help you alot.

Besides, to gain the full AAT qualification and become a member you are required to have 2 years relevant experience.....(correct me if i'm wrong!)
