Duplicated materials - can we save any cost?

Hi All,
I am going to start my AAT distance course (diploma pathway) with FTC.
My friend is doing the same at the intermediate level.
Do you know if there is any way of reducing the cost of materials (courses)?
Otherwise we will have the whole house full of duplicated books which cost a fortune…
Is it for example possible to register directly for an exam/skill tests without getting all the materials and assessment from FTC (or any other provider)?
How do they actually calculate their prices? I suppose that the books are not the major cost factor?

Hi Jota.
With Distance Learning you're paying for tutor support, practice exam papers, marking of work and papers, help with paperwork, a named contact, etc, etc.
