I know this has probably been asked many times before, but is there an award ceremony for successful completion of Technician level?
I thought I might have received some info with my technician certificate and membership form but there wasn't anything.
How do you find out about it and apply to go?

Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
I think they do them once a year. Those successful in the December Exams will have to wait untill around November when they are held. I have also just finished my Technician Level and I will be waiting to go to the Leeds Ceremeny. I think they announce the events in the monthly AAT magazine that we get and you apply from there. I can't wait. I'm still celebrating my results a fortnight later!!!
It's such a big achievment for me as I have done the course through distance learning due to the fact I work full-time. I still can't stop smiling at work. Everbody says I look well but I think that is due to not having to worry anymore about the results as I was quite confident that I had done o.k. but a few days before results my stomach was in knots.
I soon will have MAAT after my name.0 -
Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
Thanks and congrats on qualifying too!!
I'm so pleased not to have to be stuffing info in my head for exams in June and its all finished with.
Well done for doing the course while working full time. I managed to do both Intermediate and Technician in 15 months which I was really pleased with - leaves my summer stress free!!
I'll keep a look out in the magazines for details on the ceremony.

Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
Congratulations,
I wanted some tips from you on keeping myself motivated. I am studying technician level by distance learning and work full time as well. There are times when I feel I can't go on.
Any encouragement is well!!

Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
I found it hard to settle down and study, I didn't start covering the material until near the exams!!
I just had to tell myself that if I knuckled down to it and spent the time studying, I would be finished much sooner and would feel the satisfaction of passing my exams and qualifying at Technician level.
Though I was studying home study I did go on revision courses for the three exams. I did the revision courses for PEV and PCR with Sandy Hood - which I can thoroughly recommend. I went on a BPP revision course for DFS and it really helped consolidate what I had learnt at home and the methods used were really logical and helped me to remember the info needed.
With the project I used the Osbourne Unit 10 book and found that by cross referencing my project back to the points you have to cover I was able to complete it quite easily. I put references in the margin where I had covered the relevant point so that the assessor could easily see I had covered all the topics. The hardest thing can be condensing the project rather than thinking of what to write!!
I hope this helps you - remember stick at it and when you pass and qualify you will feel real satisfaction and a sense of achievement

Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
Yes there was a time when I felt I couldn't go on.
It was two weeks before the June 05 exams and I had been revising for 6 weeks and couldn't get my head around DFS. I actually put my pen down and gave up.
Luckily I had a bit of support from my partner who told me that I could do it. That was all I needed to pick my pen back up and then with my mind refreshed I got my head around DFS. How I passed it I don't know but I did and the sense of achievement afterwards was great. At this sitting I failed PCR which was my best subject!!! I then resat PCR in December 05 and passed. Thank you God!!
Please don't give up. Keep at it and you will get there in the end. It has taken me the best part of 2 and a bit years to complete the qualification but now I have it nobody not nobody can take that away from me. I plan to study ACCA after a 6 month break and I'm sure I will have my breaking points too. No pain no gain!!!0 -
Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
Hi
I have had communications with Sandy Hood before and just wondered where her revision courses are held??
Thanks, Torix0 -
Re:AAT Award Ceremony Question
If you check on the revision forum, Sandy has asked for takers of the revision courses. Might be worth e-mailing and seeing if there is one close to you.
Best Wishes
