Hi Evryone,
I sat my Unit One Sim last week at work which was provided by BPP.
Now there was something in the exam that i thought was a mistake so i went with my instinct and corrected it in the answer book, now im worried i might get it all wrong!
Basically, there were 5 separate invoices which were blank in the answer booklet, i had to use the details i had and work out the vat, discount etc for each one which was fine, but then i was asked to transfer these invoices onto a sales day book. This was also a blank layout provided in the answer booklet. But there was only 4 lines blank to enter the invoices, now i read the question over and over and it said enter ALL invoices, on the 5th line it said total so i crossed that out neatly entered the 5th invoice details over the top and then entered total back into the 6th row and carried on from there.
Do you think i have done it wrong? My boss had a look after and agreed he would of done exactly the same!!??
Really worried now tho, and after all ive had mock papers back from BPP which they have marked wrong, as they have had the wrong answers!!

Re:Unit One Simulation
Hi i did the Unit 1 Simulation last week also.
Did you check if the invoices were ok to go ahead because in my paper it says to complete the invoices only if the delivery note and purchase orders agree.
I think i remember only doing 4 invoices because one of the delivery note and purchase orders did not agree.
I've had it marked and it was okay.

Re:Unit One Simulation
I didnt have any delivery notes to check with i dont think, not that i can remember anyway!
:?
What was your exam based on?? Like what kind of company etc??0 -
Re:Unit One Simulation
your sim must have been different then. what was the company called in the sim? i cant remember but you might jog my memory lol0 -
Re:Unit One Simulation
I do remember that my name was Bethany Ward.I can't even remember what the company was based on, how bad is that!ooo i also remember at the end of the exam there was quite a few questions such as what is a legal contract etc.
Was yours the same then?0 -
Re:Unit One Simulation
hi,,
im not with bpp but have done simulations similar. i had to work out from sales orders and delivery notes that all the invoices were ok to process (blank invoices to fill in VAT,net and totals to work out etc)and then fill in the sales day book..i know i made a mistake and too entered all the incoices in the sales day book even tho 1 was incorrect (in this example they gave me enough room to enter it on the sales day book! nasty!)
it did throw out the rest of my accounts but i only lost 1 mark as i showed consistency in calculating VAT amounts, net amounts and totals and posting to the correct accounts so i guess you should do ok and only loose minor marks.
(thats if youve got it wrong in the first place)
hope this helps

Re:Unit One Simulation
They like to throw in the odd error in the original documentation to see if you're awake. It should only be counted as one error though, so it's not too much to worry about. At least you'll be looking out for something similar in the Unit 2 sim now
If it's any consolation, I made a right old mess of my Unit 1 sim but haven't done too badly since.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you anyway.

Re:Unit One Simulation
Well as they say, everybody learns from there mistakes!! And i know now everytime i read through an exam i wont fall for errors like that!!
So it can be looked at as a positive hehe
