I'm working thru the case study and doing that SWOT analysis for it, I have got a number of strengths that I think I have identified but I haven't found many weaknesses. Are other in the same boat as me?

There are quite a few weaknesses, both with the systems and the people.

I did this case study last year. You don't say which area/function you are focusing on - you do realise you only need to focus on one? Apologies if you already knew this but our tutor failed to mention it so you can imagine how overwhelmed we were when he handed the case study out. Scott is right there are quite a few weaknesses in each area but I ultimately only focused on the payroll function - had just finished a diploma course so everything seemed to be screaming out at me! Let us know which function and I'm sure some 'suggestions' could be made - I realise it is an assessment which is why is used the word suggestions.0 -

oh didn't know that - been trying to pick holes in everything. (P/L, S/L, Payroll, ABC systems)
Also you know how the first part of the assessment is about staff and training, etc, can you include it again as a weakness, like there isn't any cover arrangements0 -

I'm pleased I posted the message then - you should find it a little easier now that you are focusing on one aspect.
Although the criteria is split into managing people and then accounting system, etc I didn't actually split my report in this way. I followed the usual headings and mentioned both factors in each. So for the SWOT analysis all strengths and weaknesses were listed. In the recommendations I had subheadings for both the management of accounting system and management of staff. The executive summary was bullet pointed and I listed the account function details first and then the staff management - there were no subheadings in this section.
