Hi Guyz,
F irst of all i would like to congratulate all of you for doing such a great job by helping each other... This is my first post... i happended to find the answers through forum every time but this time i could'nt so i want you guyz to explain me the thing thanx

I am talking about Standard Costing... the question asked me to find

a) Budgeted fixed factory overhead apportioned to a product

i did

Overhead Absorption rate x budgeted labour hours (the basis)

b) Actual fixed factory overhead apportioned to a product

i.e Actual absorption rate x budgeted labour hours

I want to ask when the question is asking "actual" why budgeted labour hours are multiplied instead of actual labour hours

    I am by no means a wizard with this but just by reading that, it appears there isn't enough detail.

    Can you put up more of the question... with some figures.

    Are you sure its standard costing and not activity based costing?

    This appears to be specific to the question.

    There may be a general point to look at in terms of the capacity and efficiency variances, but I've not commented on that here
