HELP!! My FRA (new standard) Intermediate exam is in December and I feel that there is no way I'm going to pass.

I started the year off really well but seem to have hit a really big brick wall these past two weeks (Incomplete Records and Bad Debt).

I've also been trying to complete a few past papers but find that I can't even remember the stuff I learnt last year never mind since September.

Has anyone else ever hit this brick wall? Does anyone know of any good website to help with Incomplete Records - my books don't seem to be helping. I keep reading and reading the same chapter over and over again.

Cheers

Sharon

If it is any consolation, I did the old standards of MFR and we went through exactly the same thoughts. It seemed that we hadn't understood one thing properly before we went on something else. The only thing I can suggest is practice as many past papers as possible and eventually everything does click. About 96% of our class passed.

As for the books, why don't you see if your lecturer has got any old text books. We are currently using FTC which I don't get on with well (apart from the MFR one which was good) so I borrowed the Osborne ones from my tutor. If that is no good try ebay.co.uk and see if anyone is selling their old ones. Another one I found with excellent explainations is Frank Woods Business Accounting Vol 1. Loads of examples with answers.

Good luck
Annette0 -

If you are reading the same chapter over and over again without it sinking in then you really do need to sit down with a tutor or mentor and thrash out your difficulties. Very often its easy not to see the wood for the trees and get bogged down with detail.

If you have a specific problem that you are struggling with share it with me or others on the forum and lets see what we can help you with.0 -

Incomplete records are so different to anything you have done up to then they always seem to catch everyone out, but I think the best way to get to grips with it is by doing examples...so many of them that your brain goes mad then take a break and you will find it all makes sense!
Good Luck0
