Just out of interest...

For those of you that work full-time and do AAT home study, how much study leave are you getting for the exam?

    Hi Lyagirl.

Our employees get six days a year study leave.

    Hi,

I get a Thursday afternoon off work as I go to college on a Tuesday and a Thursday night so they allow me to have time off work so I do my college work.

I also had a day off a week ago for study leave.

I am going to ask if I can have the whole day off for my exam but work is quite flexible towards my college course and study leave.

    Re:Study Leave

Well i work full time and do home study with once a month workshops (of which i've had 4!). Now I'm being told that my workshops are taken out of my study leave allowance and i have no time left to take. Does this appear right?

Depends on what is your company's policy, or what is in your contract.

We get time off for all tuition and exam days - the six days study leave is in addition, for revision, etc.

I think it is just down to the individual employers how much study leave they give you.

I think four days is a bit mean, surely it is in their best interest for you to pass the exam.

Lya I know you use A+, my contract says 2 days study leave (except for day release) is monthly workshops counted as day release?

well i would have thought it would be as it is like day release to college. They are saying that the 3 day workshop we get called the "revision workshop" is our revision time but I thought you should have some time for self study. I've no where near started looking at the portfolio either.

    Re:Study Leave

I suppose it is day release, I've just always associated day release with one day a week to college. I know I'm allowed the 3 day revision course but I don't know about the 2 additional days. But then I get 3 days for intermediate and 4 for technician so not too bad.

    Hey,

I am doing distance and work full time, all that I get is the day off for the exam peeps.

My company are helping me along the way and are funding me though so I cannot complain.

I am going to try and get half day release for intermediate study though in September.

I go to college about once a month, and I get paid whilst I'm at college. Also if I have some free time at work then I am able to do some college work at work as well. But that is only if I have time

    Re:Study Leave

This June is the first time I have had any time of to revise and its my last exam at Technician level as well, not only that I have had to pay for the course myself as my old employer didn't believe in training courses.
So not only am I going to study like mad to pass, but I am going to enjoy being outside in the sun as well I hope.
