    Re:MACHINE AND LABOUR UTILISATION

Utilisation ratios measure the extent to which we are using productively the resources available to us.

Machine utilisation: if the machine can print 6,000 pages per hour and could work for 40 hours it has the potential to produce 240,000 pages. In the week oin question it only produced 180,000 which is 75% of its potential. We thus made 75% utilisation of the machine.

Labour utilisation: the workforce were paid for 150 hours but only worked 130 (86.67%)

Possibly there is some connection between the two. Possibly a machine breakdown led to the under utilisation of the maxchine and the labour idle time.
