Premier Training and Technician

Hi,

I've just enrolled to do my technician level through Premier Training. Can anyone give me any ideas what to expect etc? I've done all my previous stuff through my local college but found the lecturers so bad that I figured I might as well try the distance learning route!

Hi there

I used Premier for Intermediate and now technician. I have found them fine. I've not used the tutors much but they get back to you fairly quickly when you want them.
You do have to be very organised as with distance learning it really is down to you as there is nobody there to push. But there is loads of support on here.

The osbourne books are great, especially the practice questions and exams they really help you learn. Make sure they send you the new DFS IAS book which has now been published not the old one.
You should be fine especially if your old college tutors were rubbish, your just as well off plodding through the text books yourself. At least you can study when it suits you

PS My advice is start studying the texts as soon as you can as the exams soon arrive and its easy to put it off.

Do they use Osbourne books?

I've got all of the technician ones from when I started the technician at the college before I quit, Have I just paid to get them again?!

I'm studying with Premier for Technician. I've just started, but I did Intermediate with them and found them great. There's good contact with your tutor. But if you don't ask, you won't get. If you're stuck or confused, ask them - that's what they're there for! With regards to the books, yes you may have duplicated - but there's always Ebay...
