Hi all
This is not an accounts related topic,
I am having difficulty with the audio on my PC. I used to have Windows 98 and I had no issues downloading and watching video news from the internet. But now I changed my PC and Windows to XP, I couldn't get the audio, it only plays the pictures.
Does any one have any idea how to get it right? I am still using everthingelse(VDU,KB & cables) from the old PC.

Has your new PC got a sound card?

Have you checked the settings in the Control Panel?

I just checked the sound effect manager/audio configuration and the Pink colour Mic In box is not connected as I didin't have any when I bought the PC.

Do you have sound if you play a CD?

No, I tried a CD and it won't play the audio.

May sound a silly question - have you plugged the speakers into the speaker output and not the mic input?

They are all coloured and I only had the Line In and Line Out connectors and didn't have the cable for the Microphone. I was able to hear audio on the old PC with just the two.

Hi I've had a similar problem, check ur volume settings. Go to control panel and u should find an icon for sounds and audio devices. It might be that the volume settings are turned off or very low.

    Gd luck
