DFS Old Format Questions

Can anyone help. I know there are not many full papers around with the new layout and terminology etc, but we are getting homework with all the old layouts etc and I am finding it increasingly dificult to do homework/revision when I have to work between the two.
Would I therefore be better concentrating on doing the few papers we have with all the new details on to get my head round everything or should I use both.
Your advice would be much appreciated, because at present I think I have hit a brick wall and really don't know whether I am ready for this exam or not.

Our tutor has strongly recommended we only do questions with the new format, and also said it would be too confusing to practice the past papers. The Osborne books are the best to use, also get yourself familiar with the sample exam on this website.
