Hope revision is going well! :shock:
I have just been doing some practice activities for Unit 11. I was of the understanding that final dividends were not included on the income statement if they were only proposed and not agreed.
However, according to the assessment kit by BPP they are included even if they are only proposed.
Can anyone verify if this is correct as our tutor has only told us to include dividends that have actually been paid.

The BPP text book is incorrect! My tutor only found this out 2 months after teaching us with "proposed" dividends in the IS and BS!
She asked the chief examiner of DFS to clarify one way or the other and he confirmed that proposed dividends are not to be included in the IS or BS - but only as a note to the accounts.

It's quite shocking really when you pay all that money for books and the information is incorrect.
I'm just glad I attend college to get the correct info.
