I need to write something about regulations affecting accounting practice but I don't really know where to start.

    A few tips to help you:

    1. Ethics
    2. FRS/SSAP/UITFs and conformance.
    3. Joint Monitoring Unit (the unit that checks our work).
    4. The various Institutes rules. E.g. ACCA

    Those are just a couple, but others may be able to share their knowledge.
