edited June 18 in AAT student discussion
Well with only two full weekends left to the start of the exams is anyone else really worried?

I think im about to have a nervous breakdown!

I failed DFS and PCR in dec on section 2 of both! I'm taking PEV, BTC and PTC for the 1st time, dint want to take resits as well thought it was too much!

Now im worried that i will fail all of these and will be left to taking them all in dec! (5 exams)

Everyone is thinking i am putting too much pressure on myself, but im on little money and will get a huge payrise when i finish AAT and can finally start my life!

Is anyone feeling the stress too?

Like to hear your stories! :?

    Hi Leeann

I honestly think you're putting too much pressure on yourself, and it's no surprise really when you consider you failed those 2 exams in Dece, ber. What you need to bear in mind is that you're not resitting those two, you're sitting completely different exams this time around.

I'm sitting PEV, PCR and BTC for the first time in June and I have to admit that although I've put in loads of hours of revising (and these were set out sensibly), I'm in a bit of a panic myself.

The way I'm overcoming it is by practicing questions and reading all the theory and trying to relate it to situations in my company.

It's not the end of the world if you don't pass these exams this time around. You're life may be put on hold for another six months but it's ONLY six months. Don't pressure or push yourself to do all 5 exams in December if you do fail these ones (I've got all fingers crossed for you that you don't fail) cos think about what you'll be like then - worse than you feel now I'm sure!!!

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be fine!!!

    Re:Exam worries!

I'm feeling realy worried about exams too, got PEV, DFS & PTC to do. The way i'm feeling at the moment is that i haven't been to college all year, can't get anything to stick in my brain.

I'm starting to think the more you worry the worse it's going to be. I've read an article recently and it seems pretty sensible - concentrate on each section of past papers and keep doing it until you know everything before moving on to the next part.

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself,i think if can try and concentrate on the subjects you feel more at ease with then at least you'll feel more confident you'll pass those exams!

    Good luck

    Re:Exam worries!

had another good cry again last night. dint sleep very well again either last night!

I have decided (from today) that i am not going to worry at all!(yeah rite) Its not worth the tears and the worry.

Hopefully PTC and BTC will go ok as i feel fine about them, and if i have to resit costing then so be it! I can handle 3 resits in dec! Just have to see how it goes!

    Re:Exam worries!

    Hi,

It is really easy to let everything get on top of you.

Everybody has days like that, and when you do you need to take yourself away from your books, and do something completely non studying related and relax.

I passed both my Intermediate exams first time last year and i am no more clever than the next person, I think the main reason i passed was because although i was nervous i was positive and thought 'it will be ok' and 'i can do it' and it is amazing what information comes back to you when you need it.

I also took some tablets called 'kalms' which are a herbal remedy to help nervousness and they work wonders.

Is there anything in particular that you are struggling on that we could help you with?

    Rgds

    Re:Exam worries!

I too am worried I have been swatting for the past 4 days for BTC in which I failed last June.

My advice in your case is concentrate more on your stronger subject/s and that way you stand a good chance of passing 1 at least that is what I did last June. I passed 1 out of 3 and did my project, I passed DFS in January which was a resit but this time I understood it more.

    Hope this helps you. :)

    Good luck
