What is the range statement about, I understand that the Performance Criteria is where I have to show evidence i can do it, whats the range statement about?

    Hi

    I see what you mean, I just gave as much evidence as I possibly could when I did this unit, we were also given a security task to complete at college which basically involved typing out ways to keep the accounting information secure etc.

    It's a bit of a knotty one, but I have just had another look at what is required, and I know for certain that I covered a lot of them by getting a witness statement from work saying that I backed up data regularly, and stored information in locked cabinets etc.

    For the password and back-up elements, I also took a screen print when I did these and then pasted them in word and printed them out to show evidence that I did these things, and I went on to the internet and downloaded guides on the safe use of a computer etc.

    It really was in some senses a hard subject to cover, but I padded it out with articles from magazines etc.

    Not sure if this has been any help at all, but at least you can now say you had a reply!

    I have done exactly what Tracy did. I also made a witness and testimonal statement and got my employer to sign to say she had seen and witnessed these performances.

    I have had mine signed off as competent, so I must have done something right!!

    The performance criteria spell out what you have to be able to show that you are competent at. The range statements list the situations in which you have to be able to perform those tasks. So for example Unit 21.1 pc A requires you to perform visual safety checks. The associated range statement limits those visual checks to hardware components, plugs, cables and interfaces.

    This is spelt out in your copy of the Student record (pages 8 onwards)

    Hi,

    For this I got my employer to write me a witness statement to say that they had watched me do the things on the Criteria.
    My tutor at college gave me some additional questions to answer and I also wrote a personal statement.
