Hi everyone

Every year I get really bad hayfever and every year I try something new and nothing works :(

I can't possibly do my exam like this. Does anybody know anything thats affordable that actually works for hayfever? Or any home remedies?

Any help would be much appreciated :D

Gem

ps this is how I look! /

    Hi,

Have you been to the doctors? My sister surfers form Hayfever as well and they gave her some eyedrops and also some tablets to take.
Next week she is gonig for an injection which will hopefully help with her Hayfever as well.

    Good Luck for next week.

i've got it bad too, eyes streaming!! Have u tried local honey, sounds mad i know but one spoon a day keeps hayfever to a minimum. Has to be from no more than about 5 miles away though so it carries the local pollen!!

Yes the honey thing does work.
My hubby swears by it and he suffers really badly.

Ooh I'll try the honey thing, thanks. Not fond of honey though :(

I had the injection last year but I got terrible side effects and it didn't work anyway!

I get eye drops prescribed every year by the doctor but they're not great either.

    Thanks everyone

Good luck to all fellow sufferers!

    Hi Gem

I have awful hayfever too. At the moment I take piriton allergy as you can take up to six tablets a day - rather than the regular one tablet that most are. That way if it gets bad I can take another when needed!! It is only around £3 a packet for 30 tablets too so pretty cheap.

I have heard that a homeopathic remedy called 'pollen' is good as it puts a small amount of pollen into the body and therefore you build up a resistance.

I have heard the honey story too!! I have been told by many people it works!!

the other thing if you don't already know is to always change your clothes and have a shower when you get in to get all the pollen off yourself - otherwise you will continue having symptoms indoors!!

Good luck for Tuesday babe. Lets hope the pollen count drops a bit!!

    Tara

    Re:Hayfever

My hubby told me the reason a lot of hayfever remedies (over the counter or prescribed)don't always work is because the body builds a resitance to them.
He has also tried another homeopathic remedy - New Era For Hayfever. You can take quite a few in a day and are great for short term releif and about £4 for 400. For over the counter items at the chemist he usually has Beconase nasal spray and Opticrom eye drops.

Hope this helps, I fortunately don't suffer but know from seeing him it is awful.

Hope everyones hayfever doesn't add too much pressure to their exams.

    Good Luck

    Re:Hayfever

Yeah piriton worked once for me, then never again :P I think I'm gonna try those eye drops that michelle mentioned, because its my eyes that bother me the most.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I'll probably end up trying all of them!

Zirtek works for me, and without making me drowsy.
