BTC full exam paper 1 - Osborne books - help needed!

Could anyone please explain why the indexation allowance for the industrial building in task 2.4 is restricted to a maximum of 50,000? I can't find anything about this in the text book. Is this a general rule for all industrial building disposals?

Any help would be appreciated.

    This will be to do with the orignal owners cost?

    Silly me! I realise now that the indexation allowance was restricted so that it didn't turn a gain into a loss.
