How Many Exams?

I've just sat my exam for the Intermediate stage and hope to start the Technician stage sometime this year. I was looking at the paper papers for the Technician stage - are there really that many exams? How regularly do you sit one, is it every 6months like with the Intermediate stage?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re:How Many Exams?
There are 3 compulsory exams
DFS
PCR
PEV
(I would personally recommend doing PCR and PEV together as they sylllabus overlap a lot).
You then have the choice of two of the following:
Audit (Skills Test)
Cash Management & Credit Control (Skills Test)
Personal Tax (Exam)
Business Tax (Exam)
I did both the skills tests (spent about a month on each). To be honest they were fairly straightforward. You could probably do the Technician level in a year.
My biggest suggestion would be to get started on your project as soon as possible. Otherwise you will find yourself trying to revise for exams and complete your project at the same time.
Good luck

Eep project? What exactly do you have to do for that? And so you can pick any three exams you want and still come out with the same qualification?
Thanks for your help BTW.0 -
Re:How Many Exams?
There are essentially 5 topics to study plus the project. As I say DFS, PEV and PCR you must do these three then any two of the optional ones I listed.
The project isn't that bad actually, as I say if you are not careful you can find it eating into revision time though. If you are studying at a college they will probably go over this with you.

it looks worse than it is, and if you are planning to further your studies it puts you in good stead for CIMA/ACCA etc coz their requirements is i think at least 2 - i think ACCA minimum is 3 per sitting

Re:How Many Exams?
ACCA have no minimum exam sitting requirement you can take as few as none and as many as 4.

Re:How Many Exams?
I added together all the central and devolved assessments I sat for my levels 2 through 4 of the AAT NVQ. It came to 58 hours. Usually at exam time we did three in a week (we did six in total for NVQ4, Technician, with 3 in June and 3 in December). Amusingly, other NVQs require no exams at all
