I'm pretty fine with calculating the required materials hours etc to cover production etc but does anyone think they'll give us a question where we have to allocate shortfalls against periods like they did in the Dec 04 paper?

Re:URGENT - PCR question
I hope not; i took a while to do that as the questions did not make a lot of sense either.
I am hoping this paper will be ok, but not holding my breath, they will probably throw in some unexpected questions like they did oin pev on Monday0 -
Re:URGENT - PCR question
Hi guys, this maybe a stupid question  but when calculating the materials purchase budget do we always include 'add closing stock, less opening stock?
Im really struggling with this subject!0 -
Re:URGENT - PCR question
Yes as long as the opening and closing stock is for raw materials.
Just make sure you read the question so that you don't use finished goods or something!
Just stay calm and if you have any questions just post them onto here even if you think they are silly at least they will get answered and you will know!

Re:URGENT - PCR question
Yep thats right. You are taking off "opening stock" because you already have this in hand and dont need to buy this in to satisfy your sales.

Re:URGENT - PCR question
Thanks both.
That makes sense Stacey as the paper im doing (DEC04)does not include that calulation but it must be becasue ther are no stocks of raw materials.
Do you think it's quite worrying that i didn't know something like that this close to the exam??

Bry10 are you trying to make me cry?? ha ha
I know what my problem is, i havent been taught this subject so i've learnt the layouts to answers parrot fashion without really understanding any of it. Then when something crops up i havent seen before or its worded differently then i havent got a clue!! I think i should book my December re-sit now. lol0 -

Re:URGENT - PCR question
So does anyone think allocation of shortfalls will come up? If so what's the easiest way to remember where to allocate first etc?0
