Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Gill, you didn't miss anything great. We had to multiply the given opening stocks from the initial production budget by the value per unit that they gave to us in the notes. (£45 and £60 or something like that). If you missed it i wouldn't worry too much about it as it can't be worth many marks.0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
It was the last part of Section One, Part One after you calculated the production cost based on full absorbtion, maybe I read the question wrong?0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Oh that bit, I did that - I thought it was a production cost statement thingy (can't remember proper name - relaxing is cutting into brain!!!)0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Oh it was the value of the opening stock, I did read that but I didn't know you could revalue opening stocks. Oh well, sorry if I've caused any confusion x0 -

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I agree with you - there was definintely a limiting factor of labour - the additional production requirements were not possible, as there were only 30 hours available after allowing for 3 people being sick for the whole period. :? The original budgeted production required addtional overtime hours due to sickness, thereby reducing the labour available for the additional production. :!:
I hope so anyway, otherwise I'll be back in December!!!

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I completely agree! I got the same then doubted myself as we've never had a question that doesnt result in a constraint of some kind.
But as said, the other production hours were already accounted for. I think I was the only one in my exam who got this...
Are we right???0 -

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
My logic isnt always right.. This is the 3rd time Ive sat this b l o * ody paper! Ive never been more prepared in my life. If I dont pass this time then I shall just give up entirely!
It made sense to me at the time, also the capital budget question threw me. However I checked the definition on google when i got home and I more or less waffled a spot on answer! Get in!!0
